An indoor play area that combines a farmyard atmosphere, natural materials and a sense of adventure in perfect balance – that’s what we were able to design at the Friedrichshof family resort. Here, well thought-out play area planning meets high-quality wood design and genuine attention to detail.
The new indoor playground is part of the popular Friedrichshof hotel and family resort – a place where children and parents alike can breathe a sigh of relief. In close consultation with the resort team, a play area was created that blends harmoniously into the overall concept of the hotel: a modern indoor farm that inspires the imagination and invites discovery.
The warm, natural character is noticeable as soon as you enter the room. Wood dominates the picture – not just as a material, but as a design element. Thanks to our experience as a playroom manufacturer, we were able to create an environment that is child-friendly, safe and aesthetic at the same time.
A particular design highlight are the playhouses, which take up the logo of the Friedrichshof family resort and have been integrated into the overall complex as wooden play modules.
This playfully continues the visual appearance of the resort – and noticeably deepens the brand experience for guests. This combination of design and function gives the play area a unique identity and strengthens the emotional bond between the hotel and families.
At the center is the so-called adventure gorge – a lovingly designed climbing and balancing area with ropes, hanging routes and elements that promote motor skills and courage in equal measure. Children climb, balance and shimmy – and playfully surpass themselves in the process.
The scrambling tractor is particularly popular – a robust climbing device with a movable wobbly seat that is reminiscent of real agricultural machinery and at the same time offers space for creative role play. The play world is complemented by a versatile tree house combination with a split net bridge – an exciting connecting element that requires movement and orientation.
What makes this project special? From the initial idea to its implementation, the collaboration between Familienresort Friedrichshof and Kletterparadies was characterized by openness, trust and enthusiasm.
“It was a consistently friendly and appreciative collaboration,” says our project manager Anke Schöps, describing the joint planning phase. “You could feel that both sides shared the same goal: to create a place where children can develop freely and enjoy playing.”
This close coordination and mutual appreciation can be felt in the finished result: a playroom that impresses with its attention to detail, high functionality and authentic atmosphere.
The new indoor playground is much more than just a place to play – it is a real contribution to customer loyalty. Families experience the Friedrichshof as a place where children are welcome and allowed to develop. This strengthens the emotional bond with the brand and creates lasting vacation memories that guests are happy to share and repeat. It is an example of successful play space design that shows: With the right idea, strong teamwork and quality craftsmanship, even an interior can be transformed into a real adventure land – and at the same time increase the appeal of a hotel in the long term.
