More strength, more courage, more play value: the new indoor adventure room at Katharinenhöhe

The play area combines a large number of special stations, which together create a varied, challenging and at the same time safe space for movement.

Therapeutic variety through playful movement

The large adventure castle with stainless steel slide and portholes forms the impressive center of the area and invites children to make dynamic ascents and descents. It is complemented by the “waterfall” climbing wall, which specifically supports strength and balance exercises and thus addresses children’s central motor functions, which are particularly valuable in rehabilitation. The floating platforms with climbing net encourage courage, sure-footedness and coordination while offering children playful opportunities to relearn or consolidate movement patterns.

Another highlight is the lorry tower with its lattice tube, which not only trains dexterity and spatial orientation, but also important movement transitions – a central component of many therapy programs. The adjacent skywalk with net bridge opens up new perspectives and gently challenges children to activate their balance, depth sensitivity and stabilizing muscle groups. All these elements are designed to allow different levels of exertion and adapt intuitively to a child’s individual performance level.

Targeted promotion of motor skills in an adventure context

In a rehabilitation clinic in particular, this creates a very special added value: children experience therapeutically relevant exercises not as a duty, but as part of an adventure. The motivating environment makes it easier for them to reduce their fear of movement, build up their strength through play and improve their motor skills step by step. Whether it’s targeted strength training on the climbing wall, promoting coordination on the net bridge, increasing stamina through repeated ascents or tests of courage on the lorry tower – the play area offers a variety of options that actively support physiotherapeutic processes and are fun at the same time.

This variety of movement stimuli motivates children to rediscover their bodies, build self-confidence and achieve therapeutic goals through play. This creates a space that not only challenges, but also strengthens – both physically and emotionally.
